Amravati: 11-year-old strangulates to death while playing swing at her house

Amravati: In a tragic accident, a 11-year-old girl was who playing in a swing made out of a rope, died of suffocation after the rope choked her. The victim, Mugdha Ashish Bijwe (11) died allegedly while playing at her house on Wednesday (February 17) night.

According to the police, Mugdha, a resident of Athavadi Bazaar had gone upstairs in her house to study. No family members were present beside her and Mugdha was alone when the incident occurred. Mugdha’s mother and younger sister had gone out of town during the incident. Meanwhile, her grandmother went upstairs to call Mugdha as she had not come down for a long time.

Mugdha is survived by her father Ashish Bijwe, mother Vaishali Bijwe and sister Akshata Bijwe.

Mugdha was taken to a hospital where the doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. Doctors said the girl may have died of accidental strangulation. The body of the girl was sent to the government hospital for postmortem. Police have registered a case of unnatural death and started investigating the matter.
