Akhil Bharatiya Natya Parishad election: Prashant Damle elected chairman

MUMBAI: The result of the Akhil Bharatiya Natya Parishad election, which is held every five years, was announced today. Everyone wanted to know who will become the chairperson of the parishad and it was declared that Prashant Damle has become the chairman. Damle received 50 out of 60 votes.

 

There was a tough contest between Prasad Kambli’s ‘Apla Panel’ and Prashant Damle’s ‘Rangakarmi Samuh’ for the chairman’s post. Everyone wanted to know who will emerge victorious. However, during the election, the ‘Rangakarmi Samuh’ had an upper hand.
The ‘Rangakarmi Samuh’ is dominating the executive committee. Eleven members of Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad were elected for the executive committee. They include Suahnt Shelar, Girish Mahajan, Vijay Chougule, Sandip Tendulkar, Deepa Kshirsagar, Savita Malpekar, Sandip Patil, Vishal Shingade, Vijaykumar Salunkhe, Sanjay Rahate and Deepak Rege.

Election officer Gurunath Dalvi announced the results at a press conference. He also announced which individuals have been elected for various posts. “Prashant Damle has been elected as chairman and Naresh Gadekar has been elected as vice chairman. Ajit Bhure has been elected for the executive position and Satish Lotkae has been elected as the treasurer. Bhausaheb Bhoir was elected as vice chairman (activity),” Dalvi said.
