Ajit Pawar criticizes Center for cementing nails at protest sites, stepping up security cover

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar criticized the central government for its multi-layered security that has been stepped up near protest sites with cemented iron nails, strenthening barricades at Delhi borders.
He questioned, ” why was there need to fix nails on the protest sites, Are the protestors from Pakistan, China, or Bangladesh?”
The strengthened security measures at the agitation sites across the borders come after the violence during the Republic Day tractor parade by protesting farmers’ in which 394 security personnel were injured.
Pawar criticised the centre for its multi-layered barricading, iron nails on road, barbed wires, iron rods between cemented barriers and deployment of DTC buses and extra police personnel on ground, and thereby turning it into fortresses.
“Everyone has the right to express their opinion. Now you wake up only when global celebrities express their opinion? When there is a humanitarian crisis, one tweets about it. These global celebs did the same. But the farmers’ have been protesting in the cold for almost 3 months now, where were our Indian celebrities then?”, Pawar added.
