Agent assaults RTO inspector to force him to sign documents; Incident takes place at Phule Nagar RTO

If a person tries to get his work done on his own without the help of any agent, he has to make many trips to the RTO office. However, it seems that agents are calling the shots at the RTO. An agent threw a vehicle’s documents at an RTO inspector and threatened to kill him. (Pune Crime News)
RTO Inspector Abhijit Gaikwad (35), has lodged a complaint (182/23) at the Yerawada police station. Accordingly, the police have arrested Niky Francis Swaminathan (38), a resident of Alandi Road, Phule Nagar. The incident took place at RTO, Alandi Road on Friday between 1 pm and 3 pm.
According to the police, when the complainant was doing his job in his office, agent Swaminathan came to the office and threw documents of a vehicle at him. The agent told him, “Gaikwad sign this document or I will come to your house and kill you.” He also abused him and assaulted him. He also threatened Gaikwad’s colleagues. The police have registered an FIR against the agent for trying to obstruct official work. PSI Gaikwad is probing the case.
