Adopt Gandhi’s thoughts get 1 Lakh; Golden opportunity for Ganesh Mandals

Mahatma Gandhi, known as ‘Father of the Nation’ is reminisced throughout the world. But, people recall positive thoughts and principles of Gandhi only on his birthday and tend to forget them eventually with time. But, an initiative to remind people of such thought has been taken by Pune based organization ‘Gandhi Smarak Nidhi’.

An amazing competition has been organized by Maharashtra Gandhi Smarak Nidhi for Ganesh Mandals who will take Mahatma Gandhi’s views ahead for the decoration of the Mandals. In this competition, those who can bring creative ideas for decoration based on Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology can participate.

Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday is completing its 150 years and will be celebrated worldwide. Principles and positive thoughts of Gandhi are followed not only by the Indians but also beyond the boundaries.

October 2, is celebrated as Gandhi’s birth anniversary every year and this 150^th anniversary will be different and challenging for the Ganesh Mandals. The winner of the competition will be awarded 1 lakh cash prize. Such information was given by Maharashtra Gandhi Smarak Nidhi’s President, Dr. Kumar Saptarshi.

Criteria set by Gandhi Smarak Nidhifor competition:

Innovation: The ideas should be innovative and based on Gandhi ideology.
Inspiration: Main source for the decorations of Ganapati festival should be based on Gandhi’s ideas and thoughts.
Historical incidents: Historical importance of Gandhi’s era relatable to the Ganesh festival will be valid for this competition.

Adding to it, Dr. Kumar Saptarishi said, “Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts which are relevant to today’s incident will be considered for the prize distribution among the participants and winner.”

The competition will be judged by the prize distributor Committee and results will also be announced prior to the event by the committee.

Interested Ganesh Mandals have been requested to apply for Maharashtra Gandhi Smarak Nidhi. Prizes will be announced after 15 days of Ganapati Visarjan and the price will be distribute within a month.
