ACP Padmakar Ghanwat and policeman Vijay Shirke accused of taking ₹12.30 lakh from businessman; FIR of extortion registered at Satara City police station

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Pimpri Chinchwad Crime |  An FIR of extortion has been registered against former PI of Satara LCB and present ACP in Pimpri Chinchwad Commissionerate Padmakar Ghanwat and Police Writer Vijay Shirke. The FIR has been registered against Ghanwat and Shirke at the Satara City police station. A businessman has lodged a complaint which states that Ghanwat and Shirke have taken ₹12.30 lakh. According to the available information, builder Rajendra Chorge, a resident of Shaniwar Peth, Satara has lodged a complaint. Based on Chorge’s complaint, an FIR of extortion has been registered against Ghanwat and Shirke.

 

Chorge owns Gurukul Education Society in Shahu Nagar in Satara and he is the chairman of the society. Even when there was no complaint against the society, the former PI of LCB Padmakar Ghanwat and Police Writer Shirke entered the society illegally and helped the gangsters. During the enquiry at the police station, they harassed Chorge and blackmailed him.

Ghanwat and Shirke demanded an extortion of ₹25 lakh and took ₹12.30 lakh. They summoned Chorge frequently to the police station and mentally harassed him and detained Chorge’s wife and women teachers and staff after the sunset, the complaint states.

 

Senior police officers questioned the two accused in a primary enquiry and later in a departmental enquiry. In the report, it was clearly mentioned that the two were guilty of misconduct.

 

Hence, a complaint was lodged against police officer Ghanwat and police constable Vijay Shirke in the court. Later, the court asked police officials to take further action, Chorge states in the complaint.
