Accused creates ruckus in police station, bites cop’s hand

Pimpri : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Pimpri Crime | The accused, who hit a biker and ran away, was caught by citizens and handed over to the police. When the accused was brought to the police station, he created a ruckus and started abusing the police. He also grabbed the policeman’s collar and bit his hand.

 

The incident took place at the Nigdi Police Station at around 5.30 pm on Sunday.

 

Police constable Devba Madhukar Thorat (36) from Nigdi police station has lodged a complaint in this matter. The police have registered a case under IPC sections 353, 332, 279, 337, 427, 504, 506, Motor Vehicle Act against Chandrakant Ankush Chavan (34) from Talwade.

 

According to the police, Chavan’s car hit a two-wheeler belonging to Swapnil Pawar (38) at Ota Scheme in Nigdi. Pawar was slightly injured in this accident. While the accused was running away after the accident. Pawar and the citizens present at the scene caught him. Pawar called the police control room and reported the incident.

 

After learning about the incident from the control room, police Naik Nandurge of Nigdi police station went to arrest the accused. At that time, the accused abused Nandurge and grabbed his collar. When the accused was brought to the police station, he started shouting loudly. PSI Vikas Shelke arrived at the place. The accused had a fight with Shelke and Vidhate. The accused challenged police to take action against him. He bit the hand of police constable Vidhate, and obstructed governmental work.

 

Further investigation is being conducted by Police Sub-Inspector Girigosavi.
