Accident on Mumbai-Bengaluru highway: Two persons rescued after being trapped in truck
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Accident News | An accident involving two trucks took place on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway at Sus Khinde opposite Mahindra showroom at 6.30 am on Sunday. The jawans of the Pashan fire brigade rushed to the spot after they were informed that two persons were trapped in the truck and rescued the injured. (Pune Accident News)
The injured have been identified as Dattu Ambu Gole (60) and Suraj Surve (30) and they are residents of Satara. The Pune Fire Brigade control room was informed and a fire engine and jawans from Pashan Fire Brigade were rushed to the spot.
When the jawans reached the spot, they saw that a truck standing on the roadside had been hit from the rear by another truck. The driver and cleaner’s legs were stuck and they were injured.
The jawans used a cutter, door breaker and a rope and pulled out both the injured after 20 minutes. They were rushed to the Sassoon General Hospital in two ambulances. Both have suffered serious injuries on their legs.
The rescue team included Fire Brigade officer Shivaji Memane, driver Latesh Choudhary, Tandel Vishnu Raut, jawan Dnyandev Gode, Abdul Patel, Suresh Ishte, Omkar Deshmukh and Vikas Kute.
