Accident of passenger boat near Shivsmarak in Mumbai

MUMBAI: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- After a long time, the Shivsmarak was to be inaugurated today, but the accident happened to a boat which was going for the inauguration. There were 25 people in this boat. The inauguration program has been cancelled due to this incident. The disaster management department has reached this place and the rescue has started.

Two helicopters have been dispatched there. The speedboat was going for the inauguration of the Shivsmarak and dashed on the rock surface. As per the information, people in the boat are safe but one is missing and searching operation is going on for the same.

At around three o’clock in the afternoon, three to four boats were sent from the Gate Way of India for the inauguration of the Shivsmarak. One of them came near Shivsmarak and hit the rock, resulted in water filled in this boat. After that, the Coast Guard was called at around 4 pm. A team of emergency disaster arrived at the site. Each boat were on the return path. The boat which was submerged also carrying carried the chief secretary and Bhushan Gagrani. Now, they have also shifted to the safely place.

Shivsmarak was to be inaugurated today

The monument of the inspiration of Maharashtra Shivaji Maharaj will be built in the Arabian Sea. The construction of Shivsmarak is pending from many days.

The Larsen and Toubro Company (L & T) will do the work of this huge project. The constructing the base of the work would have been started at 3 pm. The construction of this Shivsmarak will be completed in next 36 months. It will be the world’s highest memorial in the Arabian Sea.
