ACB sleuths arrest Aurangabad Tehsildar for taking bribe

Jalana: Sleuths from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) here have arrested Kishor Deshmukh, a Tehsildar from Aurangabad for allegedly taking Rs 1.5 lakh as bribe from to verify the highway royalty receipt seized by the sand transporter police.

The complainant is a sand transporter who has won an official tender for sand removal from the Kham river at Shendurwada. Meanwhile, 2 highway MIDC police had nabbed the sand transporter. Upper Tehsildar Kishor Deshmukh had demanded a bribe of Rs 3.2 lakh for verification of royalty receipts and Rs 1.5 lakh for transporting sand.

The complaint registered said that Kishor has demanded Rs 3.2 lakh for verification of royalty receipts and Rs 1.5 lakh for transporting sand. The complainant then approached the ACB office and lodged a complaint against Kishor.

After confirming the bribe demand, the ACB laid a trap and caught Kishor red-handed while accepting Rs 1.5 lakh.
