Students of PMC-run Rajiv Gandhi E-Learning Academy to visit America under academic exchange programme

Pune : NpNews24 OnlineAba Bagul | The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC)-run Rajiv Gandhi Academy of E-Learning has not only earned a name for itself in India but also in the United States of America. American Consulate Vice Consul for Political Affairs Cody Atlen visited the school after a delegation of 30 American teachers visited the academy and submitted a report. Congress group leader in the PMC Aba Bagul welcomed Atlen.

Atlen had a discussion with Bagul for over two hours. He was informed that quality education is being imparted to children from underprivileged sections of society for the past 12 years. All students are well prepared for exams. Hence, there is zero failure in the school. Former students of the school are working in NASA and have cleared the civil services exams conducted by the UPSC. Around 500 students have got admissions to various IITs in the country. The students are encouraged to take part in sports. Their IQ tests are conducted. Bagul gave details of these initiatives to Atlen.

The successful educational experiment conducted at the Rajiv Gandhi E-Learning School is an ideal model of education. Under an academic exchange programme, students and teachers from the academy will go on a study tour to America while American students and teachers will visit the academy for some days. A proposal in this regard is being prepared by the consulate general office in Mumbai, said Cody Atlen.

He said, “It is really praiseworthy that a politician, with the help of a civic body, set up such school. Modern education has been made available to students from poor families. The cent-percent results of the school in the past 12 years are commendable. I congratulate Congress group leader in the PMC Aba Bagul and the Pune Municipal Corporation for this initiative.”

He promised that he would soon write a letter with regard to the academic exchange programme. School principal Ashwini Thet and teachers were present.
