Aaditya Thackeray’s rally wins Puneites’ hearts

The rally started from Lal Mahal for the campaign of MVA candidate Ravindra Dhangekar in the Kasba Peth assembly by-election. The rally was well received throughout. Citizens had gathered in a huge number on both sides of the road. From Phadke Houd-Devjibaba Muth-Hamjekhan Chowk-Nana Chawdi Chowk to Hindmata Chowk, the rally concluded at Sakhalipir Talim Chowk. After the arrival of Aaditya Thackeray at 6 pm, he first paid tribute to the statue of Bal Shivaji and Rajmata Jijau at Lal Mahal.
Prominent office-bearers of all the three parties in the MVA, along with Shiv Sena leader Sachin Aher, former MLA Mohan Joshi, etc, were present. Aaditya Thackeray started the rally in an open jeep, along with Shiv Sena city chief Sanjay More, Gajanan Tharkude, Rajendra Shinde, Nagesh Khadke, Sanjay Valhekar, Vicky Dhotre, Makarand Pathekar, Suresh Kamble of Congress Party, Dadasaheb Botre, former corporator Pallavi Javale and other key office-bearers. The rally started from Lal Mahal chanting slogans like ‘Pannas Khoke, Ekdam Ok’ and ‘Gaddar Shinde’, a reference to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Former Congress minister Sunil Kedar was in the jeep with Aaditya Thackeray.
Firecrackers, saffron balloons, and garlands of saffron flags were showered at various places along the rally route. Men and women on the two-wheelers were wearing saffron coats.
