40 yr old man arrested for raping minor girl

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 40-year-old man from the same locality in Bibvewadi. Based on a complaint from her mother, Bibvewadi police station has arrested the accused person.

According to police, the incident took place in November last year. The minor girl had gone to play at his house. The accused found her alone and then locked her inside a room and raped her. He threatened to kill her father if she told anyone about the incident. He also gave her some money and a mobile phone with instruction to talk to him over the phone.

Police have charged the accused person for offences under sections 354 (outraging modesty of a woman), 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
