4 trucks stolen from outside Police commissioner bungalow

Four trucks full of sand, totally worth Rs 8.9 lakhs, were stolen from the premises of Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Haveli, opposite the police commissioner’s bungalow in Camp. It is located near the Southern Command Headquarters of Army.

Talathi Gautam Dhare has lodged an FIR with Koregaon Park police station in this regard. Police suspect that about six persons are involved in the theft at night.

Police officials said that the investigation is going with the help of CCTV footages of the area. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The spot where the alleged theft of the trucks took place, is a high security zone – Queen’s Garden. Here the residences of the Pune police commissioner, District Collector, judges etc are situated.

Also this area is heavily guarded by the Army as the Southern Command headquarter is located here. On cannot go unnoticed in this area, whether its day or night as armed soldiers are deployed at strategic location.

The Council Hall police chowky under Bundgarden police station is also located nearby.
