3 family members drowned during picnic

Lonavala : NP News24 – Today morning, two families which had gone for picnic at Jadhavwadi dam near Navlakh Umbre in Maval taluka of Pune district, started drowning and cried for help. The incident took place around Sunday noon.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams which were practising nearby immediately rushed to the spot and were able to save three people alive out of which one was revived by giving CPR by NDRF.

According to NDRF, other three people were also taken out in unconscious state but they were declared brought dead at the hospital where they were taken in NDRF ambulance. Efforts were taken to revive these people also but unfortunately it failed.

Those rescued alive by NDRF are Sangeeta Gaikwad (43), Utkarsha Gaikwad (22), Subhash Gaikwad (40), all residents of Yelawadi village which is near the dam.

People who drowned have identified as Anil Kolse (50), Prithi Sagal (40), Pranil Adhar (8), all residents of Ghatkopar in Mumbai.
