Mumbai : COVID hit Maharashtra may now get some relief. In Maharashtra, 22,122 new cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours. In view of decreasing cases, a decision can be taken to relax the lockdown in the state. A decision can be taken to reopen the ban on non-essential goods shops in the state and ask government offices to work with more employees. However, the train network is unlikely to open to the general public for a few more weeks. In addition, industrial units can also be exempted.
The government is discussing a gradual easing of the lockdown and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is expected to decide on it at the end of the week. The state is expected to allow establishments of essentials as well as non-essentials to operate for a limited number of hours. The required field operation time is also expected to increase.
A ministry official said, “Industrial units may also get some leeway, while the number of employees in government offices can be increased by 15% from the current position. However, establishments like restaurants, malls, and multiplexes will remain closed as they have proved to be super-spreaders before.”
There have been 22 thousand new cases in Maharashtra and 42,320 people have recovered after beating Corona. There has also been a sharp decline in the number of deaths due to corona. In 24 hours, 361 people died of corona. While the number of active cases of corona has come down to 3,27,580, the total number of people who died from corona has also reached 89, 212.
