574 cases of ‘Black Fungus’ reported in Pune, 25 dead
Pune : A total of 574 patients have been infected with Mucormycosis (Black Fungus) in Pune. The district administration has informed that 25 of them have died so far.
The risk of corona infection in the country is still high and now, the risk of Mucormycosis is alarming. There are eight thousand Mucormycosis patients across the country. Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Haryana have the highest number of patients.

Maharashtra alone has more than two thousand patients of Mucormycosis. The supply of Amphotericin-B required for the treatment of these patients has been increased by the center.
On Monday, May 24, the Center supplied 19 vials to various states. Out of which, 4 thousand vials have been given to Maharashtra.
