Salman Khan reacts on ongoing farmers’ protest, Know what he said
Mumbai : Actor Salman Khan is among the latest Bollywood celebrities to react to the ongoing protests by farmers against the three farm laws. The actor said whatever was the correct thing to do, should be done. The issue picked up steam after international music star Rihanna and Swedish teen environment activist Greta Thunberg threw their weight behind the farmers.
On Thursday, Salman arrived in Mumbai during the launch of a music show. Salman Khan was asked by the media that the farmers movement is being discussed all over the country these days and many stars are also giving their feedback, so what would he like to say? The actor responded to this question in a very balanced manner.
Among the three Khan actors, Salman Khan has broken the silence on the peasant movement. So far there has been no statement from Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. Salman said that “Of course I will talk on it, I will definitely. Whatever is right must be there. What is right should happen. Right things should happen to everyone.”
Thousands of farmers from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh have been demonstrating on the Delhi border since last November. The farmers are adamant on the demand for withdrawal of all three agricultural laws. Despite several rounds of negotiations between the government and the farmers, there is no way out yet.
Following Rihanna’s tweet, Sweden’s environmental activist Greta Thunberg, US Vice President Kamala Harris’s niece Meena Harris, actress Amanda Cerny, singer Jay Sean and former porn star Mia Khalifa voiced support for the protesting farmers. India reacted strongly to these tweets on Wednesday and this stand of India was also supported by celebrities from Bollywood and cricket as well as top ministers.
