Pune: Airport welcomes 118 passengers from Dubai under Vande Bharat Mission
Pune: Airport authorities welcomed 118 passengers from Dubai who landed safely at Pune airport on Thursday (October 22).
Airport officials said all Covid-19 protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) were followed for ensuring the safe home coming of the passengers during the coronavirus outbreak situation in the city and world.
In October, India will operate flights from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Singapore, UAE, UK and USA under the Vande Bharat Mission Phase 7 and Air Bubble agreement.
The 118 passengers which arrived at Pune airport on Thursday had boarded the Dubai-Pune flight under the Vande Bharat Mission of Government of India. The Vande Bharat Mission is currently in its seventh phase and will be continued till October 31.
The Vande Bharat Mission was started on May 6 by the central government to repatriate Indians stranded all over the world due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Till October 20, the Air India has operated 7236 repatriation flights under the Vande Bharat Mission carrying over 9.41 lakh passengers.
