Woman raped 3 times in quarantine center by an attendant
Thane: An attendant at a COVID-19 quarantine center in Thane district of Maharashtra has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman multiple times.
Inspector Sampat Patil of Navghar police station said, ‘the incident took place in June but it came to light on Saturday when the woman lodged a police complaint.
The woman in the FIR said that the incident took place when she went to look after an 11-year-old relative admitted in a quarantine center at Mira Road.
According to police, the woman was staying with her 10-month-old baby girl in the quarantine center to take care of her 11-year-old relative who was infected with the coronavirus.
Patil said, ‘the accused used to go to her room to give hot water and during that time he raped the woman. On opposing she was threatened by accused to kill her baby girl.
The officer said, ‘the accused raped her three times in the first week of June in the woman’s room’. On Saturday she filed a police complaint against the accused after which the accused was arrested under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
