Foreign Currencies recovered from Pune airport
Npnews24 online, Pune: In a major smuggling trap, officer at the Pune International Airport, intercepted passenger name Vishal Gaikwad in the departure area who allegedly tried to smuggle foreign currencies by Air India flight no. IX 211.
In the search operation, police personnel searches baggages and recovered the currencies of worth Rs 38.50 Lakhs.
In the statement recorded under section 108 of the custom act 1962, Gaikwad admitted the possession, carriage, concealment and recovery of the said currencies seized.
The accused has been sent to 14 days magisterial custody and Smt. Anjali Desai pleaded the case on behalf of the government of India.
