Another death in the name of “Jai shri Ram”

Npnew24 online, Ranchi: Tabrez Ansari Twenty-two-year-old was beaten up by the mob who suspected him to be a thief on June 18, passed away while in judicial custody on Saturday. The incident took place in Dhatkidih village of Jharkhand’s Seraikela Kharsawan district. The video was shot to capture this brutality by one of the attackers has gone viral on internet. In the video the mob can be heard forcing Ansari to chant “Jai Shri Ram” and “Jai Hanuman”, while Ansari plead them to stop the assault.

Asaduddin Owaisi leader of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and fourth time elected member for parliament from Hyderabad constituency said, “Incident of mob lynching aren’t going to stop because BJP and RSS have increased sense of hatred against Muslims. They’ve successfully created a mindset where Muslims are seen as terroristsanti-nationals and cow slaughters.

Ansari was taken into police custody after he was found by the police beaten and tied up to a tree on Tuesday. In Judicial custody Ansari said he was not feeling well on Saturday morning and was taken to hospital, where he was declare brought dead.

Jharkhand
 Minister CP Singh said on this lynching incident “Trend prevalent these days to associate such incidents with BJPRSSVHP and Bajrang Dal. It’s a time of ‘CUT & PASTE’, who fits what world where is difficult to say. Government to conduct investigation. Trend to Politicise such incident is wrong.

Ansari’s family members have alleged ‘he died because of being mercilessly beaten for hours. The doctors at the hospital have said that the cause of death will be known only after post-mortem results come in.

Similar lynching incidents have occurred since nearly half of the decade. Mohammed Akhlaq and his son Danish were beaten with a rod and bricks by mob in his own house. – September 28, 2015
