Mamata Banerjee wishes to resign as Chief Minister
Npnews24 online : The Trinamool Congress (TMC) holds an emergency meeting at party chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s home today after ceding ground to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the recently held Lok Sabha election.

Chief Minister Banerjee expressed not to continue as CM of the state. BJP also shocked the TMC in assembly bypolls that were held alongside the Lok Sabha election. The BJP won four out the eight assembly bypolls in West Bengal, while the TMC won three.
The BJP left the Mamata-led TMC shell-shocked, winning 18 out of Bengal’s 42 Lok Sabha seats.
Mamata Banerjee said, “For the last five months, we could not work due to such prolonged elections. Despite all the hurdles, out vote share increased.”
