A 20 year old English all rounder defeated India

India has surrendered the five-match test to England, after losing the fourth test match. The test match was well fought by both the teams and was expected to have a closed end but Indian batsmen made it easy for the English bowlers by playing sloppy shots. Indian Captain and Vice-Captain played well to get to fifty plus score but it was all in vain as India just like the first test match of the series fell short of the target.

One of the main reasons why India could not win the test match is English all-rounder, Sam Curran who is just 20 years old. In this tender age, the guy has troubled Indian batsmen a lot with his swinging deliveries and has made Indian bowlers think, as all five bowlers of Indian team failed to pressurize on 20 years old.

England scored 256 in the first innings of the fourth test match, out of which 78 runs were made by Sam Curran. England played with 3 allrounders, Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes and Sam Curran. When India came to bat, Sam Curran took the vital wicket of Indian captain Virat Kohli. Virat was playing at 46 runs then and if he wouldn’t have been disappointing India might have had more runs lead in the 2nd innings.

In the first innings, India could manage to take a mere lead of 27 runs with the help of Cheteshwar Pujara’s 100. This was his maiden international 100 in England.

Again in 2nd innings when India thought of restricting England under 200. Sam Curran again rose to the occasion. He with Jos Buttler made a very important partnership in the 2nd innings. If India could have managed to break the partnership of Jos and Sam which was of 56 runs, India could have managed to win the match. Eventually, India lost the match by 60 runs.

Virat Kohli has made an impact in this England tour but he has failed to get any support from any one of the team as he has scored 544 runs in this test series and 2nd highest Pujara has scored 260 runs. This shows where India is lacking.

Indian top order has scored more runs than that of England top order but still India could not seal the match as the English allrounder were outstanding. Moeen Ali was judged the man of the match for his all-round performance, he also took 9 wickets in this test match.

In the last test match, India will try to make things all right and get ready for another big tournament which is the Asia Cup.
