15 tribal families in Shirur get slabbed homes

Npnews24 Online Pune: The Pune-based Nathani family has provided will-built homes to the tribal families residing in Hilal vasti, Kavathe Yemai in Shirur taluka, through its Relfor company.

The company has built slab houses free of cost for 15 families.

A large number of tribal families, mostly comprising Bhil and Thakar tribes, reside in the western part of Shirur taluka in huts. Last year, a pond was built to resolve the water woes of the area by Relfor company, for the inauguration of which Nathani family had visited the area.

On seeing the housing condition of the tribals, they decided to build houses for 15 families of Thakar community. The houses were recently given to the families, that will soon start residing there.

The families are happy that they could avail housing facility without getting caught in red tape and the cycle of documentation, as these nomadic tribes do not have proper documents to their names.
