12 yr old girl kidnapped for ransom, rescued by police safely

Pimpri | NPnews24 – Two men have been nabbed by Pimpri-Chinchwad police for allegedly kidnapping a 12-year-old school girl for ransom on Thursday evening.

The industrial town was jolted after the kidnapping of the girl in a car outside her society.

According to police, after getting down from the school bus she had gone to purchase pen from a nearby shop. As she was returning, the kidnappers forcefully took her inside a van and sped away. After the girl shouted for help, the shopkeeper chased the van but they escaped. After the shopkeeper informed her society members, they informed her family who contacted the police.

The family hails from Jaipur in Rajasthan. Her father works with an IT company while mother is employed with a bank. Earlier they lived in Nigdi and for the last three years resided in Queens Town society near Chinchwad station.

The kidnappers called her family around 8 pm for ransom following which all police stations and Crime Branch units of the commissionerate were roped in to rescue the girl.

Finally, the cops managed to rescue her safely within nine hours. Around 1 am Friday, police nabbed two accused from Nere village near Hinjawadi.
Police Commissioner RK Padmanabhan, additional commissioner Makarand Ranade, DCP Smartana Patil, Namrata Patil, Vinayak Dhakane, ACP Satish Patil supervised the investigation team which included inspector Sudhir Aspat, Uttam Tangade, Sudhakar Kate, Prabhakar Shinde, Vishwajit Khule, Dr Vivek Muglikar, Satish Mane, and API Satish Kamble,
Abhijit Jadhav, sub-inspector Vitthal Badhe, Chate, Harish Mane, Harshal Kadam and other police personnel.
